Juneau, Alaska

The capital City, situated on an island in the Inward Passage.
The only access is by plane or boat.

With the mountain backdrop only a few hundred yards offshore, Juneau is
nestled comfortably between.
Weather here in the winter is warmer than New England, with less snow.
See Pam to the right in the green?
She couldn't wait and is running to the next picture - her old stomping grounds.

I took a picture of this hussey as I walked along.  (wolf whistle sound)

We took a helicopter to see 4 glaciers from the air

We also landed on the Norris Glacier, an experience we will never forget.

The group from a distance.
It was like walking on the moon. Really !

The ice sparkled a bright blue wherever you looked.

Some crevaces had water in them.
Pam couldn't resist taking a sip.
Just think, this blacier was formed well before there was any pollution.

Some crevaces were quite wide. Fall in and you will never be seen again.
See the flow of this glacier to the right?
A river of ice...hard to believe it is constantly moving.

Look...just beautiful..

Looking up the glacier.
By the way, this one is 27 miles long.
