A TRULY DEDICATED QUILTER!

Only another truly dedicated quilter would understand...

Karen, one of my Quilting Buddies, and her husband and family
went up to the Lake Winnipesaukee Area for the weekend, last fall.

Her husband was going to run in a race there,
and her goal was to get to the Keepsake Quilting Store,
in Centre Harbor, N.Hampshire;
Our MOST favorite Quilting Store in New England.

She had carefully planned everything out...
Her husband would be busy running the race, and her older step-daughter
would be watching their two young ones.
That would give her a few "blessed" hours to browse around the store.

She started off giving herself just enough time
to get to the store when it opened at 9 AM.
It was a quiet Sunday morning, and the roads were relatively empty.
As she was driving by a Church parking lot, she saw something
out of the corner of her eye, and she slowed down.

Suddenly a full grown MOOSE ran across the road, in front of her car!
She slammed on her brakes,stopping just in time,
but a car going the other way wasn't so lucky.

An elderly couple was driving along, and didn't see the Moose.
Their car hit it head on, and it was thrown over the car,
landing in the road behind their car, dead.

Karen got out of her car, and rushed over to see if they were injured.
When she found that they were all right, just shaken up,
She told them she would go to a phone and call the police.
And she did exactly that!

She knew if she had waited at the scene she would have been delayed awhile,
and would not have enough time to do her shopping.
Knowing that they were okay, She felt it was all right to leave them,
and she made it to the quilt shop... only 10 minutes late!

Not even a MOOSE could keep her away from the chance to go to a Quilt Shop!
