My Wood Shop
Having recently retired I can
finally devote some quality time
to woodworking. I have dabbled
in it throughout the years
but never really had a chance
to spend time with it.
I guess I'm starting to learn
a thing or two now
because I'm making quite a few
mistakes along the way which
tells me that I am finally on
my way to having some fun.
Starting out as an 8 X 12 Garden Shed, the
dimensions ended up to be 20 X 24 with a 6'8' high
loft above to store lawn equipment, cars and
junk that three young children can accumulate
throughout the years.
We are empty nesters, so now it's my turn to
use it.
Retiring the day before Christmas, 2003 I
finally resolved the dampness problem that
plagued me throughout the years. I put in
Hydro-Sil electric radiators, enough to bring
the temperature to a shirtsleeve envirement.
Maintaining a temperature at 45 degrees when
not in use keeps the moisture out and my tools
in shipshape, rustfree condition.
Because of non-freezable silicone in the radiator
cores I don't have to worry about freezing
problems other fluid filled radiators are
noted for.
There is still some clutter that interferes
with my newly planned woodworking shop but my
goal this year is to finally build that 8
X 12 shed I always wanted to house my lawn equipment.
Or should it be larger?...Hmmm
Let's go inside
Delta Contractor's Saw with Delta Unifence system
Craftsman Drill Press in the
corner
Router table - under window,
my first shop project.
Here's
the new Delta mobile base 50-277. I LOVE IT.
See how flimsy those two legs
are? They are safer now with that base but they
still need reinforcement so
I have ordered the Delta Mobile Base Extension 50-285
On Back Order as we speak
My Workbench with an ongoing
project. A mini-footrest for remotes and magazines.
Notice the Jet Air-filtration
system on the ceiling
